Absent Minded Friends (2024)
“True friendship is like the morning sun—even when you are lost in your own thoughts, its warmth finds you, steady and quiet, reminding you that you are never truly alone in the landscape.”
* The Amber Awakening: This 80 x 120 cm abstract landscape captures the profound peace of a lakeside dawn. It depicts the exact moment when the sun crests the tree line, bleeding warm oranges, soft corals, and burnt sienna into the morning mist. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled the silhouette of the forest and its reflection into a rhythmic, horizontal pulse of light and shadow, turning a fleeting morning into a lasting emotional state.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Absent Minded Friends is a nostalgic coordinate within my "sonic diary." It references a specific, melodic track that speaks to the beauty of shared silence and the comfort of being together without the need for words. I invite the collector to find the music within these glowing ambers; only when the song’s gentle tempo aligns with the atmospheric depth of the linen is the true frequency of this contemporary painting unlocked.
* Liquid Reflection: Executed on premium linen canvas, the work’s surface is a study in translucency. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and rags, I built dozens of glazes to recreate the soft, hazy shimmer of light hitting the water. The result is a "kaleidoscopic" warmth that feels both nostalgic and grounding, making the canvas a perfect, radiant centerpiece for a space designed for reflection and connection.
