Die With A Smile (2024)
“Spring is the most beautiful deception. It tells us that everything lasts forever, wrapped in a green so vibrant it feels like a pulse. It’s a reminder to embrace the light while it’s here—to live so fully that even the end is met with a grin.”
The Verdant Mirror: This 120 x 150 cm 3D linen canvas is an explosion of life and liquid stillness. It captures the fleeting period of early spring when the greens are at their most "juicy" and electric, reflecting perfectly in the glassy surface of a mountain lake. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled this scenery into a series of rhythmic, horizontal veils of emerald, sage, and misty teal, blurring the line between the forest and its reflection.
The Musical Cipher: The title Die With A Smile serves as a powerful emotional paradox within my "sonic diary". It refers to a specific track or a soaring melodic climax that provided the "tempo of joy" during the painting's creation. I invite the collector to seek the song that matches this high-frequency green; only when the music’s energy aligns with the physical texture of the linen is the true synergy of the work’s life-affirming message unlocked.
3D Immersion: Executed on a heavy, 3D linen canvas, the work has a sculptural presence that makes the landscape feel architectural. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and coarse rags, I applied dozens of translucent layers to build a "kaleidoscopic" depth. The result is a surface that seems to breathe, with the cool whites of the morning mist cutting through the lush greens, creating a sense of infinite freshness and calm.
