Exit Light (2024)
“There is a specific kind of hope that only exists at 5:00 AM. It’s the moment the darkness finally breaks, and the first ray of heat hits the water, reminding you that summer is not just a season, but a state of mind.”
* The Dawn of Memory: This 70 x 100 cm contemporary painting is a vibrant, emotional translation of a summer sunrise. It captures the exact second when the sun exits the horizon, flooding the water’s edge with a spectrum of warm ochres, deep ambers, and soft, glowing creams. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled this coastal memory into horizontal bands of light, turning a fleeting moment into a permanent, radiant presence.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Exit Light is a powerful coordinate in my "sonic diary." It echoes the high-energy, driving rhythm of a track that speaks of transition and awakening. I invite the collector to find the melody that mirrors this golden vibration; only when the music’s crescendo matches the visual burst of the morning sun is the true synergy of the work’s energy unlocked.
* Radiant Texture: Executed on premium linen, the painting’s surface is a study in luminosity. Using DIY tools like sponges and coarse rags, I applied dozens of translucent glazes to build a "kaleidoscopic" warmth that seems to glow from within the canvas. This abstract landscape serves as a permanent "window to summer," bringing a sense of warmth, optimism, and quiet energy to any interior space.
