Going Home (2024)
“There is a specific kind of freedom found only when looking upward. It is the quiet return to a time when the sky was the only ceiling we knew, and the clouds were the only maps we needed to follow.”
* The Nostalgic Canopy: This 60 x 73 cm contemporary painting is a delicate close-up of the sky, stripped of all earthly distractions. It captures the ethereal movement of clouds in soft, muted tones of silver, pale blue, and misty white. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled the vastness of the atmosphere into an intimate, tactile experience—inviting the viewer to lie back, metaphorically, and rediscover the simple peace of watching the world drift by.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Going Home is a sentimental coordinate in my "sonic diary." It refers to a track that evokes a sense of belonging and return—a melody that feels like a deep, rhythmic breath. I invite the collector to find the auditory peace within these translucent, shifting layers; only when the music’s gentle flow matches the airy texture of the linen is the true synergy of this "internal homecoming" unlocked.
* Atmospheric Stillness: Executed on premium linen canvas, the work is a masterclass in subtlety. Using unconventional DIY tools like soft rags and sponges, I built dozens of paper-thin glazes to recreate the weightless, hazy quality of a summer sky. The result is an abstract landscape that doesn't just represent a view, but an emotion—a sanctuary of "quiet joy" designed to ground a modern interior with a permanent sense of calm.
