I Can't Hear The Birds (2023)
“There is a level of stillness where the air becomes solid. You look at the wall of the forest and its perfect twin in the water, and you realize that even the birds have been hushed by the sheer weight of the green.”
* The Monumental Mirror: This 240 x 180 cm contemporary painting is an awe-inspiring exploration of symmetry and silence. It depicts a dense forest wall reflected in the glassy surface of a lake, rendered in a deep, vibrating spectrum of moss, pine, and olive greens. By applying the Blinkered method on a massive 3D linen canvas, I have created a vertical immersion that wraps around the viewer’s periphery, effectively blurring the line between the sky, the earth, and the water.
* The Musical Cipher: The title I Can't Hear The Birds is a profound coordinate in my "sonic diary." It references a track that utilizes "negative space" in sound—long pauses and low-frequency vibrations that simulate the feeling of being deep in the woods. I invite the collector to feel the auditory vacuum within these rich, emerald glazes; only when the music’s muffled, organic pulse aligns with the rhythmic, vertical drips on the linen is the true, "deafening" frequency of this sanctuary unlocked.
* Architectural Immersion: Executed on a grand scale, the work functions as a living wall. Using my signature DIY tools—industrial scrapers and long-handled rollers—I built up the forest’s density through dozens of semi-transparent layers, creating a sense of infinite depth. This abstract landscape is designed for a space that demands a powerful, grounding presence, offering a visual silence so absolute that it transforms the entire energy of a room.
