I Can't Stand The Rain (2025)
“The forest at dusk doesn't just get darker; it grows heavier. This is the moment when the last sliver of sun disappears, and the silence becomes the only thing you can hear.”
The Sylvan Twilight: This 70 x 100 cm work is a deep, immersive study of the forest at the edge of night. It captures the transition from the golden hour to the profound indigo of evening. By applying the Blinkered method—isolating a vertical memory of the treeline and stretching it across the linen—I have distilled the complex geometry of the woods into a rhythmic, horizontal map of descending peace.
The Musical Cipher: The title I Can't Stand The Rain acts as a deliberate emotional anchor. It refers to a specific sonic frequency—a track or a fragmented lyric that provided the "rhythm of restraint" during the painting process. I invite the collector to seek the auditory match for these deep charcoals and burnt umbers; only when the melody aligns with the texture of the canvas is the true synergy of the work's internal tempo unlocked.
The Architecture of Silence: Executed on premium linen, the painting is a testament to the power of layering. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and rags, I built dozens of thin glazes to recreate the hazy, humid air of a cooling forest. For the neurodivergent mind, this piece serves as a "visual sanctuary"—a quiet, stable horizon that filters out the noise of the day and replaces it with the tactile stillness of the woods.
