Nevermind (2021)
“The sea does not bargain. Just before the storm breaks, there is a heavy, electric grey that settles over the water—a moment of absolute, terrifying power where the horizon vanishes and the world becomes nothing but salt, wind, and the sound of the deep.”
* The Triptych’s Surge: This monumental 210 x 210 cm abstract seascape is a powerful, three-part immersion into the heart of a gathering storm. It captures the raw energy of the ocean in transition, where the leaden, metallic skies of the upper canvas begin to churn and merge with the churning surf below. By utilizing the Blinkered method across three massive 3D canvases, I have created a continuous, panoramic vibration that captures the sheer scale of the sea’s unrest, turning a flat wall into a window of turbulent, liquid motion.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Nevermind is a definitive coordinate within my "sonic diary," referencing a track (and an era) defined by its raw, unpolished energy and explosive crescendos. The painting’s composition follows the rhythm of a building wall of sound—from the low-frequency rumble of the dark base to the high-pitched, white-water "static" at its center. I invite the collector to feel the auditory pressure within these grey and silver glazes; only when the music’s chaotic, distorted beauty aligns with the frantic, vertical scratches on the linen is the true frequency of this maritime storm unlocked.
* Monumental Force: Executed on three interconnected premium 3D canvases, the work acts as an architectural anchor. Using unconventional DIY tools—from heavy steel scrapers to industrial floor rollers—I built up the surface in thick, translucent layers that mimic the density of sea spray and cold mist. This contemporary paintingis designed for a space that can hold its immense energy, offering a meditative yet bracing encounter with the sublime power of nature.
