"Open to the Skyline" is a textured abstract work on 3D linen canvas (100 x 120 cm), built upon the rothko color-field tradition. It serves as a visual diary page where subtle tones of grey and muted browns coalesce to explore a sense of deep isolation and calm vastness.
For me, painting is an intuitive, synesthetic process - translating music and precise moments into physical form. I deliberately keep the imagery subtle, offering a sophisticated suggestion of a landscape rather than a specific scene, allowing viewers to discover their own unique narratives within the layered complexity.
Technically, this piece is an intense dialogue between initial vibrant color and complex layers of glazes, often subjected to aggressive scraping. This process reveals the buried history of the painting, making the texture an integral part of the narrative.
As I often maintain: I create for myself things which you eventually buy. This commitment is recognized by private collectors worldwide. My works have been exhibited in cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Chicago, Miami, London, Frankfurt with upcoming shows in Berlin.
