Real Lies (2025)
“At dusk, the world starts to lie to you. Shadows stretch into shapes that aren't there, and the mist hides the horizon. In that deception, I finally find the truth.”
The Nocturnal Synthesis: This 80 x 120 cm work is a deep, atmospheric study of a lake long after the sun has set. It captures the heavy, velvet silence of a landscape transitioning into darkness. By applying the Blinkered method—stretching a singular vertical memory of the foggy shoreline—I have created a horizon that feels both familiar and unreachable, a horizontal slice of pure nostalgia.
The Musical Cipher: The title Real Lies is a direct fragment of my "sonic diary." It serves as a cryptic gateway to the track or lyric that fueled the painting’s creation during the quietest hours in my studio. This auditory puzzle invites the observer to look beneath the dark greys and burnt siennas; only when the melody is found does the synergy of the creative moment become clear.
Layered Melancholy: To achieve this specific density of air and water, I built the surface with dozens of layers of acrylic on premium linen. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and rags, I’ve created a "kaleidoscopic" texture of micro-details that emerge only upon closer inspection. This work is designed as an "emotional anchor" for modern interiors, bringing a sophisticated, quiet intensity to the space.
