"Us, people. Amsterdam" belongs to the conceptual series "Us, people," exploring individuality, diversity, and tolerance within a shared social structure. Painted on a raw linen canvas, the artwork features a precise grid of 64 squares, each measuring 3x3 cm with uniform spacing. While the entire canvas represents a unified society or an urban ecosystem, each individual square functions as a standalone piece of art.
Inspired by the vibrant aerial patterns of Dutch tulip fields, each square consists of a unique sequence of multi-colored stripes. The varied thickness and shifting palettes of the lines guarantee that no two grid elements are identical. This systematic approach mirrors a diverse community where distinct individuals coexist within a structured framework.
