Castle On The Snow (2023)
“There is a specific kind of silence that only exists when the world is held in the grip of ice and fog. It is a moment of total suspension, where the only thing left is the faint, spectral outline of a life waiting for the return of the sun.”
* The Architecture of Winter: This monumental 180 x 130 cm contemporary painting is a profound immersion into a world defined by white-out conditions. It depicts a frozen lake, where the water, the air, and the sky have merged into a singular, luminous haze. By applying the Blinkered method on a massive 3D canvas, I have created a composition where the distance is felt rather than seen—where the faint, ghost-like silhouettes of trees on the far bank appear as a "castle" made of frost and shadow.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Castle On The Snow serves as a resonant coordinate in my "sonic diary." It references an ambient track characterized by slow, crystalline notes and an immense, hollow reverb that mimics the physics of sound across a frozen expanse. I invite the collector to feel the auditory vacuum within these pale, layered glazes; only when the music’s fragile, minimalist structure aligns with the soft, blurred horizon is the true, "absolute silence" frequency of this winter vista unlocked.
* Monumental Stillness: Executed on a premium 3D canvas, the work utilizes its scale to pull the viewer into its misty center. Using unconventional DIY tools—from wide industrial scrapers to fine-misting cloths—I built a surface of translucent greys, soft lilacs, and icy blues that seem to shift with the room's light. This abstract landscape acts as a visual anchor of calm, bringing the serene, stoic beauty of a frozen northern morning into a modern interior space.
