Halfway Home (2025)
“There is a specific kind of relief in being halfway—the moment when the destination is in sight, but the solitude of the road still belongs to you.”
The Autumnal Dawn: This 90 x 130 cm canvas is a sensory record of a misty autumnal sunrise. It captures the exact moment when the earth's warmth meets the cooling air, creating a soft, veiling fog that dissolves the landscape into its elementary forms. By taking a narrow vertical slice of this photographic memory and stretching it across the linen, I have distilled the vastness of an October morning into a series of rhythmic, horizontal horizons.
The Musical Riddle: The title Halfway Home is a fragment of a larger, sonic puzzle. It hides a connection to a specific song or a lyrical fragment that fueled the creation of this piece during long, nocturnal hours in the studio. I invite you to find the track that mirrors this atmospheric warmth; only then is the full synergy of the Blinkered series unlocked.
A Sanctuary of Texture: As an artist living with the constant "engine in the red zone" of ADHD and autism, I use the canvas to find my own quiet. Through the application of dozens of layers of acrylic paint using DIY sponges and rags, I have built a "kaleidoscopic" depth that reveals micro-details—a flickering undergrowth of color that rewards the viewer with a profound sense of meditative calm.
