Jealous Sky (2025)
“Sometimes the sky is so beautiful it feels possessive, demanding your full attention. I paint these moments to quiet the million voices in my head and focus on a single, burning line of light.”
The Atmospheric Spectacle: This 130 x 120 cm work is a sensory record of a sunset where the pink sky seems to fight for dominance over the encroaching shadows. Born from a specific memory of sunbeams piercing through a dense cloud layer, it represents a synthesis of light and vapor. By stretching a vertical fragment of that fleeting moment into horizontal bands, I have distilled the "jealousy" of the sky into a series of rhythmic horizons.
The Musical Riddle: The title is a direct reference to my "sonic diary." It may be the exact name of a track, a specific lyric, or my own emotional inversion of a song that played on repeat while I applied these dozens of layers of paint. I invite you to seek the musical counterpart to these violet and gold tones; only then is the full synergy of the Blinkered series unlocked.
A Sanctuary of Color: As an artist living with ADHD and autism, I use the canvas to regulate the "chaos-driven" energy of daily life. Through the use of DIY sponges and rags, I’ve built a rich, kaleidoscopic texture that captures the immediacy and sensuality of the sunset. This piece is designed to bring the healing power of nature and a profound sense of meditative calm to any contemporary interior.
