Look Alike, Look Alive (2024) – Diptych
“Beauty is often found at the exact moment of a collision. When the cold depth of the sky meets the rising fever of the sun, the horizon stops being a line and starts being a conversation.”
* The Chromatic Dialogue: This 90 x 200 cm abstract diptych is a bold exploration of complementary forces. It captures a dramatic, high-contrast sky where saturated, deep blues crash into vibrant, electric oranges. By applying the Blinkered method across two parallel canvases, I have created a rhythmic continuity that forces the eye to jump the gap, mirroring the way light leaps between clouds during a storm's transition.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Look Alike, Look Alive acts as a double-sided coordinate in my "sonic diary." It references a track with a dual nature—one side melodic and haunting, the other rhythmic and driving. I invite the collector to feel the auditory pulse within these clashing tones; only when the music’s stereo-shifting energy matches the physical split of the linen is the true, "living" frequency of this contemporary painting unlocked.
* Vertical Immersion: Executed on premium 3D linen canvases, the work has a commanding, architectural presence. Using unconventional DIY tools—from long-handled scrapers to industrial sponges—I built intense color saturations that seem to vibrate against one another. This abstract landscape is designed for a space that values energy and movement, offering a view that is as restless as it is profoundly beautiful.
