Miles Away (2024)
“Distance is not measured in miles, but in the layers of memory we pass through to reach a moment of true clarity. This is the warmth of the earth as it prepares for sleep—a slow, amber-hued exhale.”
* The Autumnal Horizon: This massive 150 x 200 cm abstract landscape on 3D linen canvas is a deep immersion into the textures of fall. It captures the essence of a sun-scorched field or a distant forest line, where the vibrant life of summer has settled into a rich palette of umber, burnt sienna, and muted gold. By applying the Blinkered method to this vertical expanse, I have created a sense of "grounded vastness," where the viewer is pulled into the rhythmic, horizontal layers of the earth.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Miles Away is a nostalgic coordinate in my "sonic diary." It refers to an ambient, folk-inspired track with warm, acoustic resonances that mirrored the slow, meditative process of building the canvas. I invite the collector to find the auditory warmth within these earthy glazes; only when the music’s organic tempo aligns with the physical grain of the 3D linen is the true frequency of this "faraway peace" unlocked.
* Organic Strata: Executed on a heavy 3D canvas, the work possesses a tactile, almost topographic quality. Using unconventional DIY tools—wide industrial brushes and textured rags—I built dozens of translucent layers to mimic the natural sediment of a landscape. This contemporary painting acts as an emotional anchor, bringing the grounding energy of the harvest season and the quiet promise of rest into a modern, architectural setting.
