Noises From The Outside (2024)
“Winter doesn't just silence the world; it filters it. Behind the thick curtain of fog and the solid skin of the lake, every sound from the outside becomes a ghost of itself—distant, muffled, and unable to break the peace.”
* The Frozen Veil: This 70 x 100 cm abstract landscape is a masterclass in atmospheric minimalism. It captures the haunting beauty of a frozen lake during a deep winter mist, where the world is reduced to a spectrum of frost-whites, charcoal greys, and a singular, piercing pulse of icy turquoise. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled the forest line and its icy reflection into a rhythmic, horizontal vibration that feels as brittle and clear as the air itself.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Noises From The Outside is a significant coordinate in my "sonic diary." It references a track characterized by muffled, ambient echoes and a steady, low-frequency hum that mimics the feeling of being "under the ice" or behind a fog bank. I invite the collector to find the auditory stillness within these pale glazes; only when the music’s distorted clarity aligns with the delicate drips on the linen is the true frequency of this winter sanctuary unlocked.
* Crystalline Depth: Executed on premium linen canvas, the work’s surface is a study in translucency. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and fine rags, I built dozens of paper-thin layers to recreate the hazy, shimmering effect of light struggling through a winter whiteout. This contemporary painting acts as a visual filter for the chaos of modern life, offering a profound sense of quietude and isolation that makes it a perfect meditative centerpiece for any interior.
